Uses:
-The metal is very effective as a sound absorber, is used as a radiation shield around X-ray equipment and nuclear reactors, and is used to absorb vibration.
-Commonly used in a car battery.
-Due to its low melting point and cost, lead is used as projectiles for fishing sinkers and firearms.
-Lead, in the form of strips or tape is used in the manufacturing of tennis racquets to increase its weight.

-Lead is toxic.
-Lead has long been recognized as a harmful environmental pollutant.
-Alchemists believed lead to be the oldest metal. It was associated with the planet Saturn.
